Renovation Transformations

I don't know about you, but as an interiors fan, there are few things I enjoy more than a really juicy "before and after" reveal of a room renovation. The more hideously dated the before picture is the better, in my books. I've rounded up a few of my faves that I've spotted recently(ish) on Insta.  Bathroom Renovation by The Interiors Lady (Helen) BEFORE AFTER "Did you buy some tiles for the bathroom?", "Nah, I just went through the magazines in the recycling instead." Honestly, this is one of the best before pics I have ever seen.   Bedroom Renovation by The Interiors Lady (Helen) BEFORE...

Brilliant Blogs - Simply START Living

Welcome to our latest "Brilliant Blogs" post. Where we write a blog post about other blogs that we think are brilliant. Meta. This month, we're looking at Simply START Living, a lifestyle blog run by the very lovely Amanda Start, formerly known as The Online Stylist.  We first came across Amanda's blog as she was a customer of ours (is there a better way to discover someone you're likely to have tastes and values in common with?) and have been enjoying her refreshing, honest and thoughtful writing ever since.  A quick glance at the menu headings elucidates the main areas of...

Five Minutes With... Grizzli Bear

Hello and welcome to "Five Minutes With...", our meet the maker blog feature. In each post, we'll be having a brief chat with one of our marvellous suppliers... about life, the universe, and everything. By which I mean craft and travel, obvs. We work with a huge range of clever and creative maker-types, who craft all sorts of beautiful products, from ceramics, candles and cushions; through prints, pouches and planters; to soap, stationery and... some other great things. Join us for a glimpse behind the curtain and see what makes them tick.  This month, we'll be talking to the very lovely Jenny Baker: doodler and...

Ideas for using Concrete in Interior Design

Ideas for using Concrete in Interior Design

I suppose concrete could be considered a divisive material. I might even go so far as to put it in the "Marmite" category (i.e. you either love it or hate it, for those outside the UK). In my younger days (by which I mean the late 1980s / early 1990s when I was growing up), I remember thinking of concrete as nothing but an eye-sore. A material I associated with unfriendly industrial facades, run-down shopping centres and monolithic multi-storey car parks. This gem was in good old Southend-on-Sea: I don't know whether it's my aesthetic sensibilities that have changed, or...
