Our Favourite Kitchen Trends from Pinterest

Hello and welcome to the second post in our "Trends from Pinterest" series. The first one was about bathrooms, check that out here.

Today we're here to talk kitchens. As always, monochrome is pretty much all we're interested in. You do have to be careful with going too stark on the black and white in a kitchen though, especially if brightly lit, it can end up looking a bit like an abattoir - yikes!
So most of the looks we've gone for here are a little bit softer, more on the cozy side. We'd love to know what you think.
1. Marble

As classic as materials come, and yet timeless enough to still look modern. Go subtle(ish) with a backsplash as above. Or go bold and have marble everywhere!

Now it goes without saying that marble can be crazy-expensive If you're loving the look and can't splash the cash, check out our collection of marbled jesmonite accessories.
2. Bleached Herringbone Floors
This beautiful Scandi-style take on the traditional parquet seems to be popping up all over the shop at the moment. We love it!

3. Open Shelving
Not exactly a new idea, but we're adding this in as there are so many benefits to this look. Ditching top cupboards really lightens and brightens your kitchen space, making it much easier to achieve that 'Scandi' vibe...

Open shelving allows you to display your most treasured item of kitchenware, even when you're not using them, from vintage vases, to your design icon coffee pot, and of course you can mix it up with a few prints, plants and cookery books to really bring the space alive. Even a clean pile of bright white IKEA plates will look fabulously styled in this setting...

And no bending down to get things out from low cupboards - it's a winner!

4. Statement Lighting
Doesn't really require any explanation this one. We'd say black is the boldest colour if you really want your light fittings to stand out.

5. Grey
Here is where our hearts truly lie. You can never really have enough grey as far as we're concerned. Check out this beautiful soft grey cabinetry...
