Spotted: Nichba Design
Posted by Samantha Drury Shore on
Hello! Welcome to our latest Spotted blog post. The idea of this blog series is to feature brands we think our readers, as fellow monochrome enthusiasts, might rate.
Today, the brand we're featuring is Nichba Design. Based in the north of Denmark, Nichba are makers of über-cool black metal homewares. Founded by Nichlas B. Andersen as little more than a hobby when he was working as a blacksmith's apprentice, Nichba design has gone from strength to strength, and is now an internationally respected brand, with their timeless offering of statement interiors pieces.
The 'statement' pieces to which I am most drawn (and have safely pinned for our future dream self-build product) are these shower screen and room dividing panels. Rocking a 'modern crittall' vibe, I think these are just fabulous:
I also love this bed frame, though given the amount of junk under our bed currently, we'd need to have a serious clear out before we went anywhere near this bad boy:
The space saving possibilities of this desk are impressive too. I think this would be ideal if you can only manage a workspace corner rather than a dedicated office at home:
If these larger pieces are a bit beyond your means right now, Nichba have some smaller products allowing you to bring a touch of Danish craftsmanship to your home. I particularly like their bedside shelves...
And these long bathroom shelves are just perfection. So practical and yet so stylish...
What I love most about this brand is whilst their products are so minimal they are almost monolithic, they don't feel cold or overly industrial. The strong blacks are a bold statement, yes, but not overwhelming.
Can you imagine any of these products in your home? We'd love to know what you think.
Already rocking some Nichba Design products in your home? Consider accessorising them with some marvellous monochrome accessories from our collections.
